We will be holding a tea ceremony on the 9th of September, the Double Ninth Festival.
The Double Ninth Festival is one of the five seasonal festivals, and is a time when evil spirits are exorcised at the change of seasons.
In China, odd numbers are considered auspicious "yang days," and Double Ninth, which has two large odd numbers, has been considered a special day. Also, since the number 9 is pronounced "ku," September 9th is also considered a good day for knots and ties, as it means "to tie or bind." Musuhi is an archaic word for knot, and we named our company after it. It is very moving to be able to hold a tea ceremony on the day of knots.
For the tea ceremony, we will be using works by contemporary artists, and flower artist Yamasumi Riyu will be performing a live flower arrangement.
We look forward to your participation.
